The importance of exercise and its role in promoting wellness has drawn a lot of attention across the globe. You might say that you don’t have time for it, but hopefully you will change your mind after reading this and commence a journey towards a healthier and happier life.

The largest gland in the body is your skin, which eliminates and drains out most toxics in your body through perspiration and sweat. So when you go for a jog or a long walk, you are actually helping stimulate the elimination of many harmful toxic wastes in your body by giving your blood more oxygen. If that is not enough, you also relieve stress which, to everybody’s knowledge, has been a serial killer of mankind for years. Furthermore, your immune system is boosted which protects you from a number of diseases.

So do yourself a favor and start helping your body by taking care of it. Once you get in the flow, you wouldn’t want to stop!

Staying Hydrated is Essential to Wellness

You’ve probably heard over and over just how important it is to drink eight to ten glasses of water each day.  It helps flush toxins out of the body, lubricate joints, and improve the look and feel of your skin.  So, we all know water is essential, but how do we actually consume that much water without going crazy?  It’s actually not that hard.

First of all, the eight glass minimum really isn’t that much water.  It’s just an eight ounce glass – that’s just a few sips when you think about it.  However, if you still think it’s a challenge, you might want to consider these suggestions:

· Add a splash of cranberry juice or other juice to enhance the flavor.

· Add a twist of lemon or lime.

· Make it a routine.  Drink a glass as soon as you wake up, then every time you take a break at work or head for the bathroom.

If you have children, it is your responsibility to ensure that they live a healthy lifestyle.  What you teach them now will influence the rest of their lives.  So, in order to do the best by your kids you should have a good idea of what health and wellness actually is.  Knowing to eat the right foods and get plenty of exercise is essential and your kids will do better by following your example.

Make It Fun

The key to health and wellness for the whole family is to make it fun.  To incorporate regular exercise into everyone’s lives, simply plan to do things together.  You could all go swimming once a week, take daily walks, or even do a family yoga class.

Get Creative with Cooking

We all know that kids don’t always like their vegetables, so making mealtime fun is also essential.  While there will be foods that everyone dislikes, there are plenty of substitutions out there, so get creative with the cooking!  Also, it is helpful to make the cooking experience an activity everyone can participate in.
