Weight Gain Tips for Beanstalks

December 12, 2011

While everyone else in the world seems occupied with figuring out how to lose weight, many young guys feel that they’re too skinny and need to gain weight – lots of it in some cases. However, as many discover, gaining weight can be just as hard as losing weight. Don’t fret if you belong in that category, because there is hope: read the guidelines here, and you’ll probably end your days as the proverbial “beanstalk” in six months to a year. Gaining weight can be done in three easy steps:

1. Commit to a massive increase in daily calorie intake

If you’ve found it hard to gain weight, it is because you’re not consuming enough calories. To gain weight, start eating slightly bigger meals (just stuffing yourself a little bit – adding a dessert is a good thing), start snacking between meals, and add another meal to your daily schedule. You basically need to train yourself to eat more, as bodybuilders have been doing for decades in order to most effectively fuel muscle growth. Focus on calorie rich foods, and the job will be much easier.

Here are a few great weight gain foods you should start consuming regularly if you aren’t already doing so:

  • Banana and peanut butter sandwiches. These calorie monsters combine fats with both fast and slow calories, and are therefore marvelous for gaining weight. Remember to also use regular butter and not just peanut butter on them.
  • Cheese. Cheese sandwiches, pizzas, cheeseburgers: you don’t need a degree in physiology of nutrition to understand that these kinds of foods are only for those who don’t weigh more than they would like to. Eat plenty of cheesy foods all the time.
  • Whole milk. 100 ml of whole milk will give you 65 calories. A
  • Liquid calories. Even though whole milk is very effective as a weight gain food, almost all kinds of liquid calories are great. Sodas, fruit juices and milkshakes work great. A weight gain supplement like Mutant Mass can help you take things even further, but make sure to add a drink like that to your regular meals, or you’ll lose much of the effect.
  • Oils. Get some flax seed oil and olive oil, and start adding a table spoon or two of mixed olive and flax seed oil to your fruit juices. Again, the high calorie count of this drink and the carbohydrate / fat combination make this a deadly tool against skinnyness!
  • Meat. All meats are great, but look for the fattier stuff, and remember to always eat meat with a carbohydrate source and preferably a high calorie sauce of some kind.
  • Nuts and seeds. Nuts and seeds are high calorie, healthy snacks that you can bring with you everywhere. 100 grams of nuts per day in addition to regular meals will boost your calorie intake by a whopping 600+.

2. Lift weights.

Lifting weights will help  you build muscle and make sure most of those extra calories you’re consuming don’t turn to fat. You want to get big, not turn into Jabba The Hut, and to do that you need to lift weights 2-4 times per week.

3. Chill Out.

Learning to deal with stress and keeping a relaxed attitude to everything will lower your basal metabolic rate and help you gain weight faster. Learn meditation, the Sedona Method, EFT or whatever it is you need to help you relax more. If you ever find yourself fidgeting, deal with it immediately. Also, don’t stand when you can sit, and don’t sit when you can lie down. Chill out, eat well and lift weights and you’ll be able to quit being a beanstalk sooner than you think.

HCG Ultra

Obesity is a major problem for me and even more for my confidence. I was desperate to get rid of the pounds and that’s when I decided to search for the best way to lose weight and try the acai berry. The choice was justified, given the impressive list of celebrities and nutritionists, swearing of acai berry benefits. But there were certain things that I learned the hard way. Read on to know 3 things to avoid during weight loss with the acai berry to make your experience with this wonder herb smooth sailing:

1. Inferior products are a big no

Most of us tend to compromise the quality of the supplement in order to save some money. I did the same thing and thought I would some money by settling for a cheaper alternative that saved anything similar results promised. It turned out to be a wrong decision can be difficult and I ended up wasting time and money.

2. Do not Quit fit

Driven by the promise of infomercials and advertising made, I was thinking that the exercise would compensate the acai berry. It is however important to understand that during Acai without a doubt an excellent weight loss induced potential, you can not leave it completely. Fitness training has to be to help his own part you shed weight and therefore not impaired.

3. Do not Eat at random

During an acai diet, proper nutrition is the key factor to how quickly the product would result. Acai has huge amounts of fiber, which make you feel full at any time. This is good in the sense that it helps in reducing unnecessary snacking, but there is another aspect to the whole. Several Acai products appear in the form of shakes and smoothies that are really high in calories. No matter how tempting it may be, avoid it must be because they do more harm than good.

Avoid these and you would certainly know to fast results with acai berry seen. You can continue the benefits of the drink to begin flights over the Internet and with him.

How many calories should I eat a day to lose weight?

November 23, 2010

HCG Ultra

The amount of calories that a person eats in a day varies. It depends on factors like age, gender, current weight, current height, and the level of physical activities that the person has. If you want to know how many calories to lose weight, you can either consult a nutritionist who will calculate your daily calorie requirement, use online calorie calculators, or manually compute it. This article will guide you how to calculate your daily calorie requirement.

Factors that affect the daily calorie requirement

  • Age – the daily calorie requirement of a person is like a hill. Babies need fewer calories at the beginning and they it gradually increases until it reaches its peak during adolescence. The amount of calories that the body needs will then gradually decrease as the person gets older.
  • Gender – Men require more calories because they have faster metabolism compared to women due to their higher muscle mass and lesser fat percentage build.
  • Current weight and height – Basically, people who are heavier require more calories daily. However, people whose weight is proportionate to their height would require more calories than those who are lighter but taller. For example, a 5ft. 6in. person regardless of gender and age who weighs 100 pounds needs to increase her calorie intake because s/he is considered underweight. On the other hand, a person with the same height who weighs 150 pounds simply needs to maintain the amount of his/her calorie consumption because he’s weight is just right. However, a 5ft. 6in. person who weighs 200 pounds needs to reduce his daily calorie intake because s/he is already under the obese class 1 category.
  • Physical activities – the amount of calories that the person should consume also depends on the level of their physical activities. Unlike a person who lives a sedentary lifestyle, an active person needs more calories because s/he needs it to have constant supply of energy.

How to compute for your daily calorie requirement

  • For men:  66 + (13.7 x Weight in kilograms) + (5 x Height in centimeters) – (6.8 x Age in years) x Activity factor
  • For Women: 665 + (9.6 x Weight in kilograms) + (1.8 x Height in centimeters) – (4.7 x Age in years) x Activity factor

Activity Factor:

  • Sedentary lifestyle – X 1.2
  • Light Activity – X 1.375
  • Moderate Activity – X 1.5
  • Heavy Activity – X 1.7
  • Extremely Heavy Activity – x 2

So, how many calories should you eat in a day? Do the math and you’ll find out if you have been consuming more, less, or just the right amount of calories daily.

Five Great Beverages for Weight Loss

Five Great Beverages for Weight Loss

As you set out on your weight loss diet, it’s incredibly important that you’re being mindful of everything that you’re drinking.  Far too many people just focus on what they’re eating without giving any thought and attention to the drinks they are consuming which could really be driving their calorie intake up there.

By taking the time to ensure that you’re only putting smart beverages into your body, you’re going to see that much better results from your effort.

Here are five great beverages to consider adding to your day that do offer fat loss benefits.

Water

Clearly the best choice for beverage selection while aiming for weight loss is plain old water.  Drinking enough water on a daily basis is going to help you stay hydrated while also making sure your metabolic rate is functioning as effectively as possible.

If you are at all dehydrated throughout the day this will have a significant influence on how many calories you burn over the course of the day, making further fat loss that much more difficult.

If you’re struggling to get in enough water each day, consider adding a slice of lemon or lime to it to help jazz up the flavor.

Milk

Second, another great beverage to include on your weight loss diet is milk.  Many studies have indicated that those who do consume lower fat dairy products achieve greater weight loss success, especially with abdominal fat.

As long as you are making sure to work the calories from the milk into your daily total, you can’t go wrong with this drink.

Protein Powder

Third, the next thing that you must not cut from your diet is a quality whey protein powder.  Getting in enough protein on a fat loss diet is the one thing that will stop you from losing muscle mass loss and since many people do struggle to get in enough protein, having this whey protein powder in there will be incredibly helpful.

Just watch that you’re not mixing your protein powder in with too many other ingredients and driving the overall calorie intake up there however otherwise that may put a stop to your weight loss progress.

Green Tea

One of the best hot beverages to drink if you’re looking for something to warm you up on a cold day is green tea.  Green tea actually contains certain properties that will help to speed up the metabolism, allowing you to burn more calories every minute of the day.

Green tea also helps to protect against many different diseases, so from a health standpoint it’s also an excellent one to be adding.

Herbal Tea

Finally, if you aren’t a green tea fan, consider a simple herbal tea. This will not contain the caffeine that regular coffee would but will still provide the appetite lowering benefits of a hot liquid.

Herbal teas may also help to reduce your craving for something sweet if you use a fruit variety sweetened with stevia, so that’s something to consider as well.

By starting to pay more attention to what you’re drinking as well as what you’re eating you can guarantee that you make the most of your weight loss program.

How to Get Rid of Weight-loss Strategies this Season?

How to Get Rid of Weight-loss Strategies this Season?

All that you read cannot be believed. The schemes such as “lose weight easy and fast” really do not work. Once you lose weight fast, with the same speed you will get it back. In case you are ready for sporting your swimsuit this summer, then don’t blindly go for the fast fixes.

TV infomercials are catering to those needing help to lose weight to fit themselves into their swimsuits this season. These schemes for weight loss might help people dropping a few pounds, but this fast weight-loss, which is mainly water weight-loss, vanishes as quickly as it is achieved.

These are a few typical schemes touted as fast weight-loss mechanisms for everybody wishing to look great in swimwear.

Spot reducing: Spot reducing is nothing but a hoax. It means doing couple of exercises and losing weight then and there. It does not work for any part of your body like the abs or the legs. Remember that any such schemes telling you to do that are not faithful at all.

Fad diets: Nutritionally poor diets should be avoided as they can make you sick. And if you are sick, you will definitely look worse in your swimsuit. Now cutting down your calories to a less-than-sufficient level as part of a diet scheme is only starvation. In the ‘starvation mode’, the body starts holding on to the fat in absence of proper meal. It sabotages all your efforts.  If your diet scheme allows to have only a single type of food, then your body will enter into the ‘panic mode’.

Surgery: The surgical procedures for attaining weight-loss are dangerous, costly, and most of the times don’t result in the transformation one expects. For example, it would look very odd for a size 14 lady to undergo liposuction to get her transformed into a buxom beauty of size 4. It may tighten up the body in some areas but overall you will look almost the same size. It is not advisable to try to attain the perfect body through the dangerous process of plastic surgery, liposuction, or stomach stapling.

Liquid nutrition: The shakes used as food replacement don’t supply enough nutrition and fiber for your need. The necessary minerals and vitamins without any surplus calorie can be obtained through a healthy eating practice. By substituting your proper meals with couple of shakes doesn’t help to lose weight, but instead it might induce overeating because of prolonged hunger.

You want to have the best body possible, right?  With the help of a practice of eating healthy and exercising regularly, you can achieve that goal comfortably. No weight-loss scheme or any magic potion can help you reach there any faster. The fast fixes actually don’t work and in reality you might end up in a worse health condition.

Starting today go for some sensible and good fitness program, and in no time you will become healthy and fit and will look great in your swimsuit.  Simply stick to it and you’ll keep feeling and looking great for your whole life.
